Boys and Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin will partner with Big Idea Arts and Education Consulting, Windsor Unified School District, and the Sonoma County Arts Education Alliance to refine, expand and scale up a highly successful arts integration model program in a new iteration called iAmplify (internet-based Arts Methods and Professional Learning Integrated for Youth.) iAmplify will demonstrate that classroom teachers and after-school leaders can teach rigorous arts standards with fidelity and rigor. Further, iAmplify will use high-quality online instructional materials to show that school districts can achieve a sustainable arts education for students by embedding the arts throughout all content areas with a comprehensive, sequential, standards-based arts integration curriculum. Finally, iAmplify will collaborate with diverse local arts partners to engage students and families in community outreach projects to reinforce arts learning and build public will and sustainability for arts education.

iAmplify will result in a replicable model of arts education for all arts disciplines in grades TK-6 at three new Sonoma County school districts serving under-resourced students (Bellevue, Cloverdale, Rincon Valley) by scaling up the research-based model from Big Idea’s three successive arts integration projects: Fresno iAccess PDAE grant (2013-17), Stanislaus iMedia PDAE grant (2017-21), and Windsor iAspire SSAE grant (2019-20). This model will be authentically disseminated to arts and education leaders through the Sonoma County Arts Education Alliance and their new Administrator Community of Practice (CoP). Research by Education Design will further predict likelihood of sustainability by investigating the causal link between high-quality professional development for teachers and after-school leaders as well as the positive impact of arts integration on student achievement in ELA. This strategic approach and proven impact will result in adoption of iAmplify by other school districts in the Arts Education Alliance.
